Choosing to forego his remaining NCAA eligibility, Oklahoma freshman guard Jeremiah Fears formally declared for the 2025 NBA Draft. During an ESPN interview, the 18-year-old revealed his excitement for the next phase of his basketball adventure and discussed his first year.

“I was fortunate to enter Oklahoma in a fantastic environment full of possibilities,” Fears remarked. “Every day, I had excellent coaches and teammates working with me to help a young freshman fulfill his dreams.”

Native of Joliet, Illinois, Fears had an instant effect on his one and only season with the Sooners. Beginning 31 of 34 games, he averaged 17.1 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 4.1 assists while shooting 43.4 percent from the field. His composure, scoring power, and playability soon attracted national notice; today, he is predicted to be a top 10 pick in June’s draft.
